Pastors, leaders, and mentors from the Black community gathered for learning and to participate in a discussion on behalf of families and children concerning jobs in the health sciences arena and free financial help to prepare them.
John Bluford, President of the Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute spoke to the group virtually. BHLI is a prestigious, intense professional development program designed to expose underrepresented scholars with exceptional leadership potential to today’s challenging healthcare landscape, creating a pipeline of talent to address health disparities.
Dr. Bill Hazel, Senior Deputy Director of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, also spoke to the group virtually, sharing information about the financial assistance available to K-12 school districts to expand health sciences programs and assisting young people find good-paying jobs and meaningful careers.
