Formed in 2025 in response to the region’s urgent need for healthcare and health science professionals, the Rappahannock Region Healthcare Collaborative brings together educators, employers, economic development leaders, and community partners across GO Virginia Region 6 including Fredericksburg, the Northern Neck, and the Middle Peninsula of Virginia.

This employer-led initiative uses a collective impact approach to align and coordinate the efforts of diverse stakeholders, all working toward strengthening the region’s health and life sciences sector. The Bay Consortium Workforce Development Board serves as the anchor organization, providing staff support and leading efforts to enhance health sciences education and better meet the workforce needs of the region.

To drive this work forward, the Collaborative is organized into three committees: Academic Planning, Communication and Engagement, and Talent Pathways each focused on advancing key priorities and ensuring meaningful progress across the region.
